The China Youth Daily is one of the major newspapers in China. This selected twitter post is a summary of the conversation between me and my school mate / Facebook friend “Matt Wingard” after he made a comment to one of my blogs – “Why don’t westerners provide for their parents? “.
“在英文博客上发了篇博文说西方人不很在意父母感受，不太孝敬父母。一个美国同学给我的回复是：可你们中国没有健全的社会保险体制，老人生活没保障，我们的制度是直接把我们的工资抽出一部分作为税用作养老金，等我们老了也不需要孩子养。其实，我的文意是老人也需要爱的关怀，不单是经济。这是文化差异。”
